If you have watched the new TV show on abc called The Astronaut Wives Club, then you may have noticed how amazing the food is! The food stylist Emily Marshall recreated very unique vintage inspired dishes, desserts and appetizers. In this post I will be talking about the desserts and in my next post I will talk about the others. A major part of the show is all of the wives gathering to watch and wait for the astronaut launches, so they all bring food to one of the wives homes and they watch the launch on TV, have drinks and nibble on these great all American dishes. What I specifically like about each and every dish is the attention to detail and the creativeness they put into not only the food but also the dish or Pyrex they put the food into. I found some of the lovely photos from fellow blogger Mid Century Menu and on Bon Appetit, links are under each of the photos, others from Google images. Here are a few of my favorite desserts from the show.
Frosted Angel Food Cake
A vibrant pink and red angel food cake with frosting and sprinkles. This is a very cute and easy dessert to make, it’s all about the details! The pretty pink frosting, red cherries, red sprinkles and the hint of white sprinkles all on the cute flower print vintage dinner plate. This is definitely one I am going to try the next time I have to bring a dish to a party!

Peachies
These are one of my favorites because they are individually sized! The Peachies are small sponge cakes with whipped cream, peaches and a jell-o cube on top with fun star shaped sprinkles. They sound like a little bite of heaven!

Green Jell-O Mold
This is a very creative design from a simple green jell-o mold. Again, it is all about the presentation and the design of the dessert. Something so simple can look very unique and very delicious! The green jell-o  recipe can be found here.
Another atomic style jell-o mold.
One more variation of the jell-o mold.

Crown Jewel Jell-O Mold
I like how the Crown Jewel is all multicolored Jell-o cubes molded into one “cake” style mold. You make the colors of jell-o you prefer separately then cut into cubes and after that combine the cubes with the new jell-o mold only adding whipped cream to the jell-o making it look like a creamier texture. This will be one I must try!
