Converting Your Home Into An “Honest” Home

As you all know I am obsessed with The Honest Company, so I thought I would give you some tips on how to convert your home to a “non-toxic” environment. It all started 4 years ago when I read the book The Honest Life by Jessica Alba. Then I discovered The Honest Company and I signed up for a free trial so I could see what it was all about. Once I tried the products I knew this was something I wanted for my household and for myself. I have allergies, eczema and severe migraines, so for me this was a must!

I did not like cleaning my house due to the fact that the products were so strong and they would instantly give me a migraine and I would be sneezing like crazy. Once I received my first Honest bundle and cleaned the house, it was so amazing. I actually enjoyed it and I was so relieved that I wasn’t getting a headache. The scents of the products smell really good and they still make your home smell clean without the over powering chemicals. The multi-surface cleaner is White Grapefruit, the bathroom cleaner is Eucalyptus Mint, the toilet cleaner is Tea Tree Eucalyptus, the floor cleaner is Citrus Rosemary, and the glass cleaner is Free and Clear. All of them are amazing and work very well.

So the first step I took was ordering a bundle with the cleaners I thought I would like to convert first. The first I converted were multi-surface cleaner, bathroom cleaner and glass cleaner. I also got a lotion and body oil in my first bundle. I was excited the first step to a non toxic home was on it’s way and I didn’t even have to go to the store to get the items. Once I started using these items it was all downhill from there because I was then determined to get every product they had at the time, they didn’t have as much as they do now back in 2013. That is the great part about ordering the bundle service from The Honest Company, you get to pick and choose when you want it delivered and the products you want. For me, this was the easiest and most cost friendly way to convert my home. To this day I stand by Honest for everything! Cherry and I also use all of the body products, shampoo, hair detangler, she uses the diapers, bottom wash, rash cream, and powder. We use just about all Honest products out there! (Now to get Stan to use them with us). All it takes is trying the products and you will not regret it. Yes, the biggest difference at first is knowing you have a clean home without the “clean” smell to constantly remind you. That was great for me and my health issues so that wasn’t that hard to adjust to. I can say that after using Honest for 4 years now I have become more sensitive to scents and different smells of products, not that it is a bad thing, just something that makes me love the products I do use everyday.

As soon as I showed my mom the products, she was instantly hooked and she started trying the multi-surface cleaner all around my house. After that day she immediately ordered a bundle for herself and slowly converted her home as well.

My next conversion will be to order the Honest Beauty products. I have gotten the free skincare trial and I am very impressed and I would like to try these products for sure. I really liked the Even Brighter Everyday Moisturizer and the Hydrating Mist. For my first bundle I would like to try the Cream Foundation, Brighter Moisturizer and the Truly Kissable Lip Crayon in Rose Kiss. After using the skincare trials, there is one thing I would like to mention and that is the products have a plant based, very natural smell that took me a few times to get used to, but I love it now! Overall I am very excited to try the beauty items.
